The Scholarship Committee shall create and administer a scholarship program for the WIN membership.  The scholarship program shall be offered annually provided funds are available and the program is authorized by the National Council.  This committee shall coordinate with the Finance Committee to conduct fundraising activities specifically earmarked to support the scholarship program as authorized by the National Council. The committee will consist of a representative from each of the WIN regions. 

Strategic Tasks:

* Develop ranking guidelines that lead to the implementation of the annual Scholarship program.

* Establish an objective screening process to evaluate all scholarship applications.

* Follow the scholarship criteria noted in this policy handbook.  The scholarship program is dedicated to providing assistance to female NRCS employees who subscribe to WIN’s mission and vision.

* Present and recommend scholarship applicants to the National Council for approval.

* Coordinate with the Communications Committee to promote and advertise the availability of scholarships to the membership.

* Work with the webmaster to post scholarship Winners’ biographies to the Organization’s webpage.

* Determine scholarship awards (amounts and number) with the Finance Committee with concurrence of the National Council, on an annual basis.

* Coordinate scholarship fund disbursement with the Treasurer of Finance.
