I’m Anne Pollok, a Cartographic Technician at the East Remote Sensing Lab in Greensboro, NC. I received a BS in Biology and Geography, with a concentration in Environmental Studies from
UNC-Greensboro in 2007. My most rewarding work was spent studying and collecting habitat and physiological data on sea turtles in coastal NC and Costa Rica as an undergraduate student.
While I have lived in NC’s larger cities all my adult life, my father and brother farm soybeans and wheat in southern VA where my family has had property for 4 generations since coming to the US.
I live with my partner (also an NRCS employee), our dog, and 3 charming felines. My hobbies include gardening, music concerts, home remodeling & construction, aquariums, taking strange
pictures, kayaking/canoeing…and great food and drinks. I am running for the Southeast Regional Rep of WiN in hopes of offering my enthusiasm to the group, to create a better opportunity to meet new
people, foster new relationships, and shed light and awareness of the Remote Sensing Labs and their function and potential within NRCS.
