Born and raised in Mebane, North Carolina, I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.  I began teaching immediately after college but decided to change subject area.  I taught Earth Science and Physical Science all while obtaining an additional licensure in Biology.  Looking for a change, I began working with NRCS in June 2006 as a Cartographic Technician at the East Remote Sensing Lab in Greensboro, NC.  My duties include performing image-to-image registration, location certification, and data collection for the National Resources Inventory (NRI).  I also perform image-to-image registration and mosaicking for Stewardship Lands. I also serve as the Federal Women’s Program Manager for the East Remote Sensing Lab since 2012.

My husband and I have four wonderful children, one son and three daughters.  They are 12, 8, and a four-year-old set of twins. 

I was interested in WiN when I first learned of it through Sharyn Alvarez.  After I attended the conference in St. Louis in 2015, I knew this organization was on its way to greatness and I wanted to be a part of that!  I kept in contact with Karri Honaker and expressed my interest, so I decided to join as a lifetime member and also run for a Regional Representative position.  I want to be an essential part of the networking and advancement that WiN provides all while sharing training opportunities and development strategies with other women in NRCS.
